8am already (blah, mornings) and I’ve already taken my daily vitamins and drank 28oz of water. In 20 minutes I’ll have my breakfast shake. I’m gonna go ahead and call this morning a win. Also, the vitamins my sister recommended definitely seem to be helping with my insomnia. Though the weird dreams she mentioned have finally arrived 🤣
I take supplements on a daily basis, and decided to write up what I take and why, in case it helps others or just for future reference for myself.
- Thrive Women’s Vitamins by Le-Vel: Yes, this is an MLM scheme. Don’t hate. I don’t sell them, but I do take them because these have a lot of good vitamins in them, help with my insomnia, and are one of only two different types of daily vitamins I’ve ever tried that don’t make me sick.
- Omega 3 Fish Oil: I have had bad ankles since I was 7 years old (over-pronation of the ankle) and have a lot of joint pain due to inflammation. In addition to that, I’m following a Keto-esque diet and that leads to constipation. Omega 3 helps with both issues.
- Magnesium: See above comments regarding constipation on keto lol
- Potassium: I’ve been taking potassium for years, because I’m prone to muscle cramps. Too long sitting still at a desk, I think. This isn’t related to my diet and isn’t new to me.
- Apple Cider Vinegar: I take these in pill form to help with heartburn, which I get strangely from the amount of water I drink. I don’t care what anyone says – water can give you heartburn. This is a thing that happens to me and Apple Cider Vinegar helps prevent it.
In addition to the above supplements, I also occasionally take Saint John’s Wort. This is a homeopathic remedy for anxiety and other stress issues. I take it when my brain gets on a negative feedback loop that I can’t kick, which usually happens on the worst meeting days at work. I can get stuck spending hours rethinking every single thing every person on the call said and how I responded or think I SHOULD have responded. Saint John’s Wort helps stop my brain from obsessing on those days.
