November IF Challenge
I’ve decided to challenge myself for the month of November by doing 22-24 hour Alternate Day Intermittent Fasting. At the moment, my goal is to follow my normal Ketovore way of eating every other day (from lunch to lunch). Then, ever other day to start my fast following lunch and go through til lunch the […]
Be Prepared this Holiday Season
The holidays can be nearly overwhelming in the amounts of high carbohydrate, high sugar foods everywhere we look. This time of year, it is not only encouraged, but EXPECTED that we gorge ourselves on candies, pies, breads, and everything else that anyone following any type of low carb diet (from Atkins to ketogenic to ketovore) […]
Meal Prep is Self-Care
As you may know, I dedicate at least part of every Sunday to self-care. This comes from extended periods of time, especially on the last two years, when taking care of myself didn’t even rank high enough to be anywhere on my list of priorities. I neglected myself, both physically and mentally, and I suffered […]
Patience
Came across this gem today and LOL’d. We live in a world of instant gratification and, especially when it comes to myself, I can often have zero patience. I want to achieve all my goals as quickly; whether it is mastering a new skill, losing weight, or whatever. I want it now! Sometimes it is […]
Walk To Mordor Update
I have now walked 1,027 miles since I started this challenge mid January (I don’t remember the exact start date, but it was sometime around the 20th). That is over 1,000 miles in just under 10 months. Not the fastest trip, but I’m proud of my progress! Latest milestone hit:
Weekly Weigh In
I’m back down to 159. I’ve been fluctuating between 163 and 159 for the last two weeks, but I also haven’t stayed on my nutrition goals all week. Last weekend I binged on carbs. I bought brownies, peanut butter waffles, popcorn, and veggie straws. Old favorite junk food. That, by itself, wouldn’t have been a […]
Carb Heavy Low-Carb Week
This week’s choices were not the healthiest. I binged carbs over the weekend and ate on the higher end of the low carb scale on Thursday (still maintained under 100g net carbs) but ate poor carb nutrition choices. This week’s meal choices: Saturday 10/9/21 Breakfast: 2 Cosmic Brownies + 2 packs of Nutty Buddy Waffer […]
Self Care Daily Habits
Sometimes, this is what self care looks like. Daily habits that you do without thinking, but that are just for you: brushing your teeth and washing your face at the start and end of every day. Playing music while putting on your makeup before work. You don’t always have to go out of your way […]
That Sugar Film
I love to learn and, as I go through my weight loss journey, nutrition has become a point of interest of mine (obviously). Because of that, I’ve begun watching a lot of documentaries on the subject. I keep a running list of documentaries that I’ve watched, what they are about, and my opinion of the […]
Snacky snacks
If you know anything about the ketogenic diet, you probably already know that snacking is frowned upon. Every time that you eat, your body releases insulin. Insulin is the hormone responsible for inflammation and fat storage in the body. And since the goal of the keto diet is to get into ketosis, when you were […]
